Our logo, disigned by Susan Monden, depicts the o'opu nopili, a native Hawaiian fresh water fish of the gobie family. Like all gobies, the o'opu nopili has a distinctive sucking disc formed by the joining of its pelvic fins. This feature gives it the ability to cling to rocks and to fight currents and climb waterfalls as it works its way up to the brain waters of Hawaiian streams. Thus the o'opu nopili represents the determination and tenaciousness involved in the struggle of brain injury survivors and their families as they proceed through rehabilitation and make their way back into the community.
