Richard's personal weaknesses

Jung said, "Wisdom accepts that all things have two sides". It has also been said that a weakness is simply an overused strength.

Jung's reference to wisdom having two sides is also true of people. You have many strengths, however, you also have some potential weaknesses and it is helpful to be aware of these.

  • You like time to fully understand complex or pressured projects, and generally do not enjoy fast change. This can sometimes be seen as a lack of initiative when you are under pressure.
  • Your invaluable contributions may be overlooked because you do not project your image assertively. You have a tendency to idealise others.

  • Your avoidance of interpersonal aggression and irritation, wherever possible, often means that you do not express your opinions as quickly as the situation warrants.

  • You can be over-tolerant of others' inability to perform, and sometimes can be manipulated by supervisors or significant others.

  • You usually take rejection personally and have a long memory for slights.

Consultants Comments

The statements above could be true of you, however, through awareness and training you may have overcome many of them. Spend some time identifying and acknowledging the ones that are still true then create an action plan for how you intend overcoming them.
